    MIA KOBER — MStep into the world of Mia Kober, a New Zealand-based music curator celebrated for her ability to craft silky sounds, soulful basslines, and immersive experiences. An integral pillar of New Zealand's vibrant music community, Mia has left her mark on renowned festivals such as Shipwrecked, Splore, Ponderosa, Rhythm & Alps, and more.


    Mia’s mission to encourage immersive experiences extends beyond her performances, influencing the festival and event community as a whole. She is also a founding member of Silk Collective—a platform dedicated to nurturing aspiring DJs, showcasing upcoming talent, and fostering connections between New Zealand and the world.


    Not defined by genre but guided by an intuitive sense of what her audience needs, whether during peak time or in ambient moments, Mia’s sets are all about creating a feeling. Her music is an eclectic blend of deep grooves soaked in soul, sonic atmospheres, chunky selections, and emotive electronica—all woven with unexpected surprises.


    Journeys are never linear, and Mia embraces the twists and turns, creating tantalising tales to move you and make you groove. Take a deep breath and enjoy the ride.ia Kober was spoon-fed jazz, folk, and many more musical influences as a child. Her sound today carries warm emotion with hints of melancholy.


    Discovering the track Muse by Nicolas Jaar was her lightbulb moment into electronic music. Her quest took her to Europe where the chill stages of festivals were her education.


    Mia draws inspiration from the likes of Nicolaas Jaar, Clever Austin, Lui Mufata, Nils Frahm, Nikosh, Gary Clark Jr, Four Tet, Gidge, Lee Jones, Stimming, Arutani, Billy Caso,  Satori, Lemonella, Flowers On Monday, Groove Armada, Landhouse, Gaudi, Bado, Jean du Voyage. 


    Embedding herself in the Auckland underground scene, it is her enthusiasm to organise events and lend a hand to those that need it that makes her a pleasure to be around and her ease at weaving a soundscape makes her one to watch.
